Nicolas Cage has covered LMFAO‘s ‘Sexy And I Know It’.

The Hollywood actor read out the lyrics to the track during an appearance on a Capital FM morning show, Capital Breakfast this week.

Nicolas, who was responding to a request from a listener to perform the song, read out the track’s chorus, including the famous “wiggle, wiggle”.

The actor is currently starring in the new film Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, which sees his character Johnny Blaze called upon to try and stop the devil, who is trying to take human form.

Empire recently got the Oscar winning actor to participate in a live chat with fans and one of the questions asked was about which role Cage would want to revisit.

“I would like to hook up with one of the great Japanese filmmakers, like the master that made Ringu, and I would like to take The Wicker Man to Japan, except this time he’s a ghost.”

Romney turned out to be a great coiner of new words and phrases. Usually the domain of linguists, the former Governor of Massachusetts created a new phrase to go along with his highly deceptive term, "effectively pro-choice" on abortion (which really means, really pro-choice… really, I'm just sayin').

In 2007, when asked by Tim Russert about whether he would support further infringements upon the second amendment right-to-bear-arms, he said that he would only support the banning of "weapons of unusual lethality" (WUL).

Anybody familiar with Princess Bride knows that our hero Wesley had to fight "Rodents of Unusual Size" (ROUS). Since most people think weapons were supposed to be lethal, unusual lethality must mean making people more than mostly dead, perhaps Governor Romney will be the next public official to call for safer bullets.

Mitt Romney, Bain Capital, the Damon Corporation and Medicare Fraud

Mitt's Blood Money is a new mini-documentary released by Winning Our Future, a Newt Gingrich-friendly Super PAC, that questions Romney's involvement with the Damon Corporation that was investigated for Medicare fraud. They introduce the film:

Debating in Tampa, Florida in late-January, while falsely characterizing Newt Gingrich's income from his government consulting work, Mitt Romney denied that Bain did "any work with the government like Medicaid and Medicare". Now we learn that Bain, under Romney's "supervision", purchased and ran the Damon Corporation, who pled guilty to Federal conspiracy charges as a result of tens of millions of dollars in systemic Medicare fraud committed under Romney's and Bain's control. Damon was fined over $119-million which was, at the time, the largest criminal healthcare fine in Massachusetts history and Mr. Romney's participation was characterized in 1996 by Corporate Crime Reporter thusly: "As manager and board member of Damon Corp, Mitt Romney sits at the center of one of the top 15 corporate crimes of the 1990's."

I’ll be interested to see how Romney spins responds to this. Unlike the previous criticism of Romney’s involvement with Bain Capital this can’t really be seen as an attack on capitalism. Folks, Romney’s business record is very relevant to the vetting process. If the facts are wrong then Romney should come out and say so. But they really don’t.

The Romney campaign denounced the super PAC ad, saying it “would make Michael Moore proud and (has) already struck a chord with President Obama‘s liberal allies.”

“They have been thoroughly discredited by independent fact checkers and by respected Republicans like Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio,” Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said. “Once again, Speaker Gingrich is reaching into President Obama’s playbook and trying to re-litigate old Democrat attacks. Speaker Gingrich and his political cronies are desperate to distract from his record of failed and unreliable leadership, and voters won’t be fooled.”

First off, Speaker Gingrich, as Romney pointed out before in defending himself in light of his own SuperPAC ads, can’t legally be in communication with Winning Our Future. Secondly… What is inaccurate? What isn’t truthful? Comparing Gingrich to President Obama instead of addressing the ad says nothing to Florida’s voters other than they’re deflecting the questions the mini-documentary raises. Third, no SuperPAC ad should ever be taken at complete face value so I doubt that everything in the documentary is 100% accurate and it includes it’s own spin (that includes the ads that Romney’s SuperPAC runs).

Sixth Circuit Court Rules Counseling Student Cannot Be Expelled for Religious Views

I posted a year-and-a-half ago on two cases where Christian counseling students were expelled from their graduate counseling programs because they believed homosexuality was wrong. At the time one of these cases, Eastern Michigan University's decision to expel Julea Ward had been affirmed in Federal district court.

Yesterday the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the lower court's decision. This is a huge victory for protecting the religious liberty of students. As the court held that Eastern Michigan University may have violated the Constitution by expelling Ward based on her religious beliefs about homosexual conduct.

A recap of what happened leading up to her expulsion. Ward was a graduate student in Eastern Michigan University's counseling program. She had four classes left to take before graduation. She maintained a 3.91 GPA in her program. She was required to complete a counseling practicum, in which she would counsel clients under the supervision of a faculty member. She made it clear that she was willing to counsel homosexual clients on a variety of matters, but that her religious beliefs would forbid her from affirming their same-sex relationships.

In one instance she asked her faculty supervisor permission to refer her client to another counselor. Permission was granted for her to do this. Soon after she was expelled from the University on the ground that the referral violated the university's code of ethics. She then filed a lawsuit, alleging that the expulsion violated her rights of free speech and free exercise of religion.

The court in writing its opinion wrote:

Ward was willing to work with all clients and to respect the school's affirmation directives in doing so. That is why she asked to refer gay and lesbian clients (and some heterosexual clients) if the conversation required her to affirm their sexual practices. What more could the rule require? Surely, for example, the ban on discrimination against clients based on their religion (1) does not require a Muslim counselor to tell a Jewish client that his religious beliefs are correct if the conversation takes a turn in that direction and (2) does not require an atheist counselor to tell a person of faith that there is a God if the client is wrestling with faith-based issues. Tolerance is a two-way street. Otherwise, the rule mandates orthodoxy, not anti-discrimination. (Emphasis is mine)

Exactly, as I said in my original post:

Not only have these schools prohibited the free exercise of religion, but by telling these students they can stay if they believe differently is establishing a religious doctrine. I'm sure they don't see it that way, but we all have religious beliefs. Nobody lives in a moral and religious vacuum.

The court pointed out evidence of religious speech discrimination during the University's disciplinary inquiry:

Many of the participants' comments and questions focused on Ward's beliefs and her religious objection to affirming same-sex relationships. Professor Dugger said that Ward "communicated an attempt to maintain [her] belief system and [her] behaviors," id. at 8, and dismissed the religious basis of Ward's objections: She offered her "professional opinion" that Ward was "selectively using her religious beliefs in order to rationalize her discrimination against one group of people" because Ward said that she could "set aside her religious values" and counsel clients about things such as "abortion, child abuse, and murder" but "could not set aside her religious values in order to effectively counsel nonheterosexual clients." Id. at 5–6. This line of inquiry suggests a distinction between secular values and spiritual ones, with a preference for the former over the latter. Besides, the reason why Ward (in Professor Dugger's words) could "set aside her religious values" in counseling clients about "abortion, child abuse, and murder" is because the university likely would not insist that she affirm the values underlying this conduct.

Pressing these points, Dugger asked Ward whether she would "see [her] brand of Christianity as superior to" that of a Christian client who viewed her faith differently. Id. at 28. In the same vein, Professor Marx queried "how someone with such strong religious beliefs [as Ward's] would enter a profession that would cause [her] to go against those beliefs . . . by its stated code of ethics." Id. at 31. And Professor Francis took Ward "on a little bit of a theological bout," id. at 28, asking whether she believed that "anyone [is] more righteous than another before God?" and whether, if Ward's stated beliefs were true, "doesn't that mean that you're all on the same boat and shouldn't [gays and lesbians] be accorded the same respect and honor that God would give them?"

Evidence of the faculty's hostility to Christianity in this instance is made plain, and the court in their ruling said:

Many of the faculty members' statements to Ward raise a similar concern about religious discrimination. A reasonable jury could find that the university dismissed Ward from its counseling program because of her faith-based speech, not because of any legitimate pedagogical objective. A university cannot compel a student to alter or violate her belief systems based on a phantom policy as the price for obtaining a degree.

On its face, the ACA code of ethics sets forth neutral and generally applicable policies, and the university has ample authority to adopt these policies, including the anti-discrimination provisions, for the school's graduate counseling program. What poses a problem is not the adoption of an anti-discrimination policy; it is the implementation of the policy, permitting secular exemptions but not religious ones and failing to apply the policy in an even-handed, much less a faith-neutral, manner to Ward.

This case has now been remanded to district court for further proceedings to go before a jury instead of the decision being made by an individual judge.

Rick Santorum Wins CNN Florida Republican Debate

Life and work has kept me from watching the 20th Republican debate held in Jacksonville, FL on Thursday until today (contrary to what some may believe I don't blog full-time). You may have missed me since I haven't written anything since Wednesday. Just how busy have I been? Both my oldest daughter and son watched this debate before I did. (My daughter watched it for her U.S. Presidential Elections class, and my son watched for his traditional logic class – got to love homeschooling!)

Three quick takeaways from watching this debate:

Gingrich has just been flat in the recent Florida debates and this particular debate may seal a Florida Primary loss as recent polls seem to indicate. Romney was able to turn the tables on Gingrich with his Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae criticism. His criticism of Wolf Blitzer fell flat. He needs to change up his debate strategy; attacking the moderators has become predictable.
Romney while he certainly performed better than he did in South Carolina; Santorum got the better of him in several exchanges in particular with health care (see the video below).
While Gingrich and Romney have been sniping at one another over trivial matters. Santorum scored when he said, "You guys should leave that alone and talk about the issues." Santorum looked the most Presidential.

The clear winner of this is Rick Santorum. The clear loser was Newt Gingrich. Mitt Romney and Ron Paul both had a good debate (Paul better than Romney), but Santorum had the best moments and took the opportunity to demonstrate he is the full spectrum conservative running.

Here was one of the better moments of the debate where Santorum clearly got the better on Romney on the subject of health care.

During Snoop Dogg‘s web show, he gave a bit of much needed advice for Kim Kardashian.

Snoop ripped into Kim during an expletive-filled new video, telling Nets star Kris Humphries, “You shouldn’t have tried to wife the [bleep].”

With 40 ounce bottles of Colt 45 sitting on his newsdesk and a faux skyline behind him — no mercy was shown.

“My first piece of advice is you dumb assed [bleep], you shouldn’t have tried to wife the [bleep]. She’s not that kind of [bleep]. She get’s around,” he says.

“She's cold-blooded, I'm pretty sure she'll have a book in a month talking about all the [bleeps] that she got and how she played them.”

Dogg references Kardashian exes Reggie Bush and Ray J, with whom she made the sex tape that launched her to fame.

How much do you love him now? Yeah, I love him a lot too.

Brandi Glanville may have fond memories of her "week of fun" with Gerard Butler, but the actor has no clue who she is.

Oh girlfriend, never lie about sleeping with celebrities — you get caught.

The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star told Andy Cohen that she hooked up with Butler.

According to Glanville, she bumped uglies with Gerard for an entire week and it was so good, she rated him an 11 out of 10.

But when TMZ asked the actor how he rated Glanville in the lovemaking department, Gerard seemed really confused.

Mary Louise Parker Replaces Demi Moore as Gloria Steinem in Lovelace

Demi Moore has been replaced by Mary Louise Parker as Gloria Steinem in the movie biopic, Lovelace.

Sources confirm to Us Magazine that the TV star will fill in for Moore, who had to drop out of the film earlier this week after she was hospitalized for “exhaustion.”

On Thursday, there was speculation that Chloë Sevigny would play the feminist icon when she was cast as a feminist journalist, but now it seems that those are two different roles.

“Lovelace” is currently shooting in Los Angeles with Amanda Seyfried playing the film’s central character, ’70s porn actress Linda Lovelace.

I guess everybody expects that I’m a gadget geek. It would come as no surprise that I have a multitude of electronic devices in every corner of my home. I have smart-phones and laptops, desktops, movie players, movie streamers, recorders, set top boxes, iPods, iPads, Android stuff galore… and an 8 year old child that we affectionately call “the crusher”

“Release the Kraken!” Now that is definitely coming out from my mouth, should my bank balance and accountant agree to be enlightened by as much as £35,000 for The Octopus Chair. Yes sir, you read that right – this uniquely shaped piece of home furniture is perfect to set the proper tone at your next dinner party, as you hold a Pirates of the Caribbean theme, while you comfortably park your rear end on this giant octopus. Exquisitely detailed to the extent that you might even think it moved a wee bit (this tends to happen when you get a little tipsy from all the merry making that is going on), this opulent dining chair is ideal to project your already eccentric personality upon the rest of the party goers.

Mobileye driver safety solution

The recently concluded CES saw thousands of gadgets, gizmos and even services offered to the masses, and it is virtually impossible to cover all grounds, even if you have a staff count like Engadget. ‘The Voice’ Season Two Preview – Spoilers (Video)

Here’s your first look at Season Two of ‘The Voice‘.

In the clip, a singer does a very unique take on Trey Songz' "Say Aah" and catches the interest of Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo (who calls her performance "the coolest thing that's happened on the season so far").

The Voice returns after the Super Bowl on February 5th. It will then settle into its normal time slot the following night.

Christina Aguilera really seemed to be getting into her music.

Blake Shelton‘s advice this year?

“All four of us are nominated for Grammys this year,” Blake notes (quote via ABC News Radio). “We have hits. So when we give advice, you’d better listen up.”

‘Toddlers & Tiaras’ Mother Files Lawsuit Against Several Media Outlets (Video)

Susanna Barrett is one of the mothers on the controversial television show, Toddlers and Tiaras.

Susanna is suing three major media outlets, claiming their reporting presented her daughter, Isabella, in an overly sexualized manner.

The $30 million libel suit against TMZ, The Huffington Post, and The Daily Mail, was filed in Manhattan on Tuesday, according to The New York Daily News.

This is the same mother that allowed her daughter to dress as Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.

The dispute stems from media coverage of a videotape which shows the Kindergartner performing a rendition of the LMFAO song, "Sexy and I Know It," in the DJ booth of a Manhattan restaurant.

In the video, Isabella wears a pink tutu and is seen bouncing in the deejay booth as she sings to a cheering crowd.

As for how the 5-year-old knows the lyrics to the LMFAO tune? “We just listen to the radio, and that’s a real catchy song,” she told TMZ at the time.

American Idol 2012 Recap: Season 11 Episode 5 Texas Auditions 1/26/12

Tonight American Idol hits Houston, TX for the next round of auditions. Everything is bigger in Texas so lets hope it’s better! Out of all the auditions in Aspen last night only 31 competitors were given a golden ticket to Hollywood. If you missed last night’s episode or any of the earlier auditions you can see our recaps here!

Last night’s funniest audition was the last one of the evening with Magic Cylops. When he came in the audition room he told the judges he was a lady and was from Iowa. He had a fake British accent and says he picked it up in Iowa where the only radio station is the BBC. He offers to sing Neil Diamond or James Buffet. He begins by singing Cracklin Rose and it is horrible. He then he asks to sing another and sings Margaritaville and it was worse. Randy literally got up and left for the bathroom. Jennifer and Steven got up and left too. Magic was never given an actual answer, but it’s pretty clear that it’s a big NO. (Check out Magic Cyclops audition video below!)

‘Real Housewife’ Kim Richards: I’m An Alcoholic (Video)

It's been an emotional season for "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Kim Richards.

She's been in and out of rehab and now she is finally ready to come clean about her struggles.

Kim, who was in rehab at the time, did not make an appearance at the show's reunion show, but she did later sit down with Bravo's Andy Cohen to talk about the show and her treatment.

In the interview Kim will explain the reasons behind her odd and erratic behavior on the show.

When asked why she went to rehab Kim responded, "I'm an alcoholic."

This comes as no surprise her cast mates on the show who have had to deal with Kim's antics throughout the season.

"I think we were all aware that something was off, but we didn't know quite what it was. It was very difficult to try and ascertain," Lisa Vanderpump admitted when asked if she knew Kim was struggling. "I think she wouldn't have gone without really needing to be there. She obviously has to sort something out."

Adrienne Maloof added, "It takes a lot of courage to do what she has done. It's a step in the right direction."

50 Cent is a betting man and he has got a lot riding on this year's Super Bowl.

The 36-year-old rapper has got a lot of faith in his hometown team, the New York Giants. So much so that he is willing to bare it all if they lose to the New England Patriots at this year's championship game!

The "Get Rich or Die Tryin" star was challenged over Twitter by a fan who tweeted:

“@mybestassets: Lets bet. If the Giants lose the Superbowl, u must post ur d–k on the twitter. If they win, I’ll post my boobs & face. Bet?”

As you can tell by 50's reply, he is up for the challenge.

American Idol Aspen Audition Performances (Videos)

The first American Idol audition city negotiated by the judge's agents: Aspen, Colorado.

It all started with a Steven Tyler joke: “The altitude’s kinda giving me a bit of a headache, has anyone got an..Aspen?”

Jenny Schick was first. She’s a music teacher. She loves Steven Tyler. When she introduced herself at the audition, Tyler offered: “No Schick.

Eighteen-year-old Haley Smith from Utah offered to sing the judges something good. She sang Rufus and Chaka Khan’s classic really rather well.

Curtis Grey, grew up singing in church and eventually joined a band. He auditioned with a Boys to Men song and still managed to make it to Hollywood.

Angie Zeiderman believes she is another Lady Gaga. As if the world needed one more.

Seventeen-year-old Shelby Tweten is bipolar. She has been struggling with depression. She said that the thought of success in “American Idol” was keeping her on her meds.

The episode ends on a mystery. Dressed as a metal rocker, the final auditioner calls himself Magic Cyclops.

Robot baby sends shivers down the spine

When you mention the word “robot”, what comes into your mind? Most of us would have thought of characters from Transformers, or even Go-Bots (if you know what I am talking about, then you’re about in the same age bracket as me), and perhaps even the Terminator. Those who think that Chucky is scary enough might want to check out this particular robot that mimics a human baby, positively sending chills down my spine when I look at the YouTube video of it in “action”.

Created by the UK’s Chris Clarke, this robotic baby will writhe around, struggling in its crib in such a convincing manner that we have taken yet another step closer to the uncanny valley. This is one baby that I hope it will never grow up, and someone might just make a new genre in movies – techno-horror, where robots like these go on a murdering spree, only to have good ol’ Chucky intervene and save the day for us humans. I won’t diss those dolls anymore, I promise, as there is an even greater nemesis out there now.

iON Goggles captures your outdoor memories in Full HD resolution

Zeal Optics has just released their latest video recording implementation – the iON Goggles, where this nifty device that you wear while you ski down a breathtaking slope will not only offer you protection against the glare of the sun, but also sports a built-in Full HD capable video camera to capture that fleeting moment as you slalom down, in addition to the ability to shoot still images – preserving such memories in a digital format (and subsequently, print, if you so desire) for you to revisit later in life.

According to Joe Prebich, director of marketing at Zeal Optics, “We’ve arrived at Outdoor Retailer this year with the most diverse goggle portfolio on the market that takes full advantage of technology. The addition of HD video and photo built into an incredible goggle like iON is a perfect new offering for the market. We know that iON is going to change the way you see the mountain because we blend the way you ride with the way you live.”

The new iON Goggles will feature a 1080p True HD video camera which captures real-time video and sound, while the camera does 8-megapixel photos. You need not remove your gloves to operate this particular puppy, as the buttons are conveniently located on the side of the goggles. The camera in question comes with a sophisticated, 170-degree wide angle lens that will capture images in the wide periphery, and it is smart enough to automatically adjust itself for light levels and has infinity focus. With an in-goggle viewfinder and on-camera controls, you can be sure that using this is a snap. There is a 6-hour run time associated with the iON’s rechargeable lithium-ion battery, although the final figure largely depends on video and camera usage.

All images and videos captured are stashed away on a microSD memory card, where you can pop it into other devices for viewing later on. You can not only share your visual adventures over Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram among others, there is also Zeal’s online community. Paul Fisher is one of the most well-known agents in the modeling world and has worked with stars like Kimora Lee Simmons, Carre Otis and Naomi Campbell!

I was lucky enough to sit down with Paul to talk about his career and his new CW show Remodeled!

We met at his awesome Los Angeles office and I must say, he really was a great guy.

Paul started his business from the bottom and has reached international praise for his work, I wanted to pick his brain a little.

You've done so much in the modeling world, how did you start out?

“I was a college student at UC Santa Barbara and I met some very rich and powerful people and they wanted to open up a modeling agency. I was 21 years old, I was girl crazy and back then I actually had an afro with a pick in it. So I went to New York and started a modeling agency, I didn't even know how to spell Vogue! I didn't know what I was doing; eventually the company went belly up. But when I took on a young girl and watched her career blossom. To watch that transformation take place in front of my eyes, it was mind boggling. I fell in love with that art of creating kids and watching them grow and transform, it was pretty cool!”

“I came back to Los Angeles and asked my grandpa for $10,000, he said ‘For what, girls?’ I said ‘Kind of. I think I can open a modeling agency, I've learned a lot in New York.’ And he gave it to me! So I started a modeling agency with $10,000 in my studio apartment.”

“I then signed a 14-year-old Latin girl named Jennifer Jimenez. She had beautiful, long hair and I told her I was going to shave it off. She looked at me like I was crazy, but we shaved her head and then later she was booked for the cover of American Elle Magazine. She was the youngest model to ever be on the cover of Elle. After that my career took off.”

What makes someone a good model? What do you look for in those who want to model?

“What I used to think was beautiful and what I think is beautiful now is completely different. My taste and my eye have been trained by what resonates with the magazines. What excites me now is what excites Mario Testino, Steven Meisel, Valerie at Vogue, Ed Razek at Victoria Secret. Everyone asks me where I get my taste and how I pick the kids. I study so much of what is going on in Vogue and Bazaar and Prada and Gucci that I can kind of have a sense of what they are looking for. That's who I'm selling the kids to.”

You have worked with so many amazing models, who do you think is one of the most exciting people in modeling today?

“Andrej Pejic. He is a boy who dresses as a girl and for the first time in the history of our business he’s walking in every single top men show and every top women show! He is transcending our industry, I have a lot of respect for this young person. That's what fashion is all about, taking chances, pushing the limit and thinking outside of the box. So that is someone whose career I am really following. I think this young person is an important statement in our industry.”

So let's talk about your show "Remodeled." How would you describe it for those who have not seen the show?

“I would say that for the first time in the history of television, people are going to see the real star creating process. On one hand the audience will see me help modeling agencies realize their dreams and make them a part of ‘The Network’ (Paul’s network of different agencies around the country). On the other hand they'll see us truly launching these kids' careers. For the first time, the audience will see young people have a true chance at the modeling in the real world. Some will fail, some will succeed. I don't represent actors, I represent top models.”

“Each episode is totally different with different problems. There's different agencies, different models, different lessons so every time somebody tunes in it's a totally new trip. At the same time you'll see reoccurring characters, for those who were wondering about Annalise (a model who was dropped from the agency) she will be coming back, you have to watch what happens.”

In the show you go to different agencies and "Remodel" them, what was one of the oddest or most interesting experiences you had while doing this.

“Well, in one episode we did an agency in Hermosa Beach. We worked with a woman named Stephanie who owns Blaze Models and she has a young man who works for her named Augustus. Basically, things got pretty heated and Augustus tried to beat up Joseph (Paul's assistant)! Literally the camera men were trying to pull apart these two people! That was pretty insane!”

Is there anything else you'd like the audience to know?

“Yes, I want the audience to know that this is all real! I'm not casting actors for a show, this isn't fake. We had one rule for the CW: This is what we do, you can film, but don’t tell us what to do!”

“I'm excited to show the world how I launch careers, fix businesses and how I teach people and businesses how to be great.”

It is a new round of auditions tonight as American Idol hits Aspen, Colorado for auditions. The fresh mountain air is bringing a whole new energy to the crowd tonight. Another set of contestants will hit the stage to win their golden ticket to Hollywood.

We have heard that tonight we will see some of the more colorful contestants and some pretty awful audtions. We love the good auditions but the bad ones are fun too :-) Love them, hate them you never forget them. Who can forget William “She Bangs!” Hung.

On the last show Fifty-three hopefuls got a golden ticket in San Diego. Jim Carrey’s daughter Jane Carrey has created quite the stir since showing up at Sunday’s auditions. Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie Will Get Married Soon

It appears that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will get married, sooner than anticipated.

It appears that Brad has shifted from his promise that it won't happen until gay marriage is legalized.

"We'd actually like to, and it seems to mean more and more to our kids. We made this declaration some time ago that we weren't going to do it till everyone can. But I don't think we'll be able to hold out. It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot. And it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment."

Has he asked Jolie to marry him?

"I'm not going to go any further," says Pitt. "But to be in love with someone and be raising a family with someone and want to make that commitment and not be able to is ludicrous, just ludicrous."

A few weeks after wishing Hilary the best with her marriage and new baby on the way, Carter stopped by the Fox studios to reveal that he will "always" love his famous ex.

"I'm really happy for her that she's in a successful relationship and that she's going to have a baby," he said.

"Sometimes I think to myself, maybe that could have been me but it is what it is."

I wonder how Lindsay Lohan feels about all of this?!

British boyband ‘The Wanted‘ are currently on tour in the U.S. and ended up finding themselves trapped in an elevator.

Keeping things in good spirits, the boys shared the experience with their fans by posting the below photo on Twitter saying, “After a 12 hour day, as we’re getting ready to go home, we get stuck in an elevator….to be continued…”

I’m certain that getting stuck in an elevator, was NOT part of their tour plans.

Max George, Jay McGuiness [here], Siva Kaneswaran [here], Tom Parker [here] and Nathan Sykes [here] are in the states in an attempt to break into the market.

‘Teen Mom’ Leah Messer Has Miscarriage (Photo)

“Teen Mom 2” star Leah Messer and her fiance Jeremy Calvert were expecting twins, but it is now being reported that they have lost the babies.

“It’s a devastating experience, but all I can do is support Leah and take things day by day,” Calvert tells OK. “It’s hard, but we will get through it.”

Messer, 19, reportedly began to suffer from cramps two weeks ago and knew something was wrong when the pain continued to worsen.

"She was having extreme pain to the point where she couldn't get out of bed," a source told the mag. "Leah knew something was happening. She was bleeding and had body aches."

So sad, and so tragic.

The pregnancy was the second for 19-year-old Leah Messer, who welcomed twins Ali and Aleeah with first husband Corey Simms on December 16, 2009.

The 19-year-old singer and actress was celebrating her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth‘s 22nd birthday on Saturday when she posed suggestively with his birthday cake.

Who gave this guy a penis cake?

Miley can be seen licking the cake and pretending to scream as she prepares to cut into it.

TMZ’s sources claimed that she was drinking alcohol during the party at Club Icon in Los Angeles — where the legal drinking age is 21.

Rihanna Got Some New Tattoos, ‘Thug Life’ (Photos)

Rihanna has been enjoying her downtime after wrapping up her "Loud" world tour.

First the paps caught Rihanna lighting up, then she posted a photo of herself wearing a bikini, while hitting on Khloe Kardashian. Now… Rihanna is sporting some new, white ink, “Thug Life.”

Sharing the photo Rihanna said, “♫ All these bitches screaming that 2pac back ♫ #THUGLIFE”

Shakur had the same slogan inked across his stomach. The slain rapper was murdered in 1996, after he was shot four times during a drive-by killing.

Joe Jonas and Jennifer Love Hewitt will guest star on ‘Hot In Cleveland‘ tonight.

Jennifer reprises her role as Wendie Malick’s daughter Emmy, and disappoints Valerie Bertinelli‘s character Melanie when she announces that she is engaged to her son Will, played by Joe Jonas.

“Our moms are shocked to find out that we’re engaged,” Jennifer told People mag.

“I’m the wrong person for him because his character is really nice and down to earth, and mine is ridiculous and rude and has all the wrong priorities.”

It’s a wicked web we weave.

Demi Moore Had A Seizure Triggered By Anorexia & Substance Abuse

Demi Moore was hospitalized Monday night after having an epileptic seizure and is now being treated for anorexia and substance abuse issues.

The 49-year-old had been having a rough time dealing with the stress of her break up from Ashton Kutcher.

A source reveals, "She collapsed after having an epileptic seizure.”

The former cougar has become extremely thin and friends and family have been worried for her health.

Her scary weight loss has been confirmed to be one of the issues she is being treated for.

“Demi is in getting treated for anorexia, as well as other issues that caused her seizure,” the source admitted.

“She has not taken care of her health at all lately and has lost a ton of weight.”

So what was Ashton Kutcher doing while his former wife was being treated in a hospital?

Apparently, after news broke of her hospitalization, Kutcher continued to party it up in Sao Paulo, Brazil at a Bruno Mars concert and then a nightclub.

Ouch!

Anyways, hope you get better Demi!

Gingrich, the Alinsky Republican! Really?

Philip Klein of The Washington Examiner wrote a poorly reasoned hit piece against Newt Gingrich. Ironically, I was looking for a little anti-Gingrich material when I came across Klein's post. It irked me enough to write a rebuttal, so this morning, Gingrich gets a free ride and Klein gets scrutinized.

Klein accuses Gingrich of using the tactics of Saul Alinsky. That's an intriguing assertion, to be sure, but is it true? If it is, Klein fails to make a case for the charge.

Charge 1—Gingrich exploits resentment.

"Many of the tactics he spoke about—such as exploiting resentment … —have become a central part of Gingrich’s strategy for securing the Republican presidential nomination."

Well, exploiting is bad, so of course Gingrich must be bad for doing it. Let's see the details. Gingrich attributed his South Carolina victory partly to "the economic pain that people were feeling." That's all that Klein says. We are left to imagine the rest of the logical argument about how this follows Alinsky's blueprint.

Charge 2—Gingrich pits himself against the establishment.

"Many of the tactics he spoke about— such as … pitting oneself against the establishment—have become a central part of Gingrich’s strategy for securing the Republican presidential nomination."

Klein gives a specification, Gingrich said that he was victorious in South Carolina because people were angry at "the national establishment". Of course if people really were mad at the establishment and thought Gingrich was the best candidate to … to … to punch them in the nose or something, then he would have told the truth; but Klein doesn't deal with the question of truth, just the nature of the charge. He apparently thinks that pitting oneself against the establishment can ONLY be done in an Alinsky-esque way. Silly.

Gingrich does rail against the elite. Klein points that that Gingrich was part of the elite and hints that his position is, therefore, hypocritical. However, a fair amount of Gingrich's rancor is directed against media elites and liberal elites; Gingrich is obviously not part of either of those elite groups. As for the elite politicians in Washington, rightly or wrongly, Gingrich got booted out of that group. In many ways Gingrich is on the outside of the elite power circles. His central hypocrisy, if anything, is that he probably wants to be back in the elite circles. Yet, whether Gingrich is hypocritical or not, one can be a hypocrite without Alinsky.

Charge 3—Gingrich uses Alinsky’s 13th Rule

"And the way he scolded CNN moderator John King in last Thursday’s South Carolina debate followed Alinsky’s 13th tactical rule, which states: 'Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.'"

Klein proves this damning charge by two specifications. First, he alludes to Gingrich's response, in the recent Fox debate, to Juan Williams' famous issue advocacy statement which the Williams tried to disguise as a question by ending his spiel with "Can't you see…" Klein claims Gingrich personalized his attack on the media. Perhaps what really bothered media-member Klein is that Gingrich made Williams' non-journalistic stand look bad by answering his rhetorical question.

The second specification is, in the last debate, when CNN moderator John King,

"tried to claim that it was another network, ABC, that had aired the interview with his ex-wife that had prompted the question about whether he had ever sought an 'open marriage.' Gingrich froze the target."

Gingrich "froze the target" by "hollering" at the moderator: "John, it was repeated by your network. You chose to start the debate with it. Don’t try to blame somebody else."

Let me translate: a moderator asks a tough question, the candidate tries to squirm free with some vague notion that the question is based on bad journalism, the moderator says it wasn't his fault, the candidate tells him it was.

And I thought Alinsky's Rules for Radicals was suggesting underhanded tricks.

Video: 1,000 Days Without a Budget

The Heritage Foundation yesterday posted a video that marked the 1000th day since the Democrat controlled U.S. Senate has passed a budget. While the House has put forth (and passed) its own budget, the Senate has failed to do the same. To help illustrate how extraordinary this failure has been, their new video highlights a few of impressive feats in history that have been accomplished in less time.

Obama’s Lust for Power Revealed in State of the Union Education Remarks

President Barack Obama had a lot to say in last night’s State of the Union address, I mean a lot… apparently this was the 10th longest in words and 9th longest in time. It was broadcast from 8:00pm – 9:30pm (CST). I frankly don’t have time to dissect everything that he said, but with his comments regarding education it is clear that he does not care about parental or state rights. In a nutshell when he said last night he said, “that government should do for people only what they cannot do better by themselves, and no more.” It is clear, based on his speech, that he doesn’t think there’s much we can do better by ourselves.

On education he first referred to Race to the Trough:

For less than 1 percent of what our nation spends on education each year, we've convinced nearly every state in the country t0 raise their standards for teaching and learning — the first time that's happened in a generation.

I know, that Mike Huckabee thought this was a brilliant idea, but bribing states with one-time money to adopt standards in way that undermines the democratic process, educational freedom, local control and parental authority was simply unconstitutional. Doing some simple fact checking demonstrates this wasn’t a good idea. Like the idea that it raised the standards for teaching and learning is false. He is right that this is the first time in our nations history that this has happened, and it was done in violation of the law.

So wonderful… he went on to demonstrate his lack of knowledge about how education is even run…

At a time when other countries are doubling down on education, tight budgets have forced states to lay off thousands of teachers.

Who hires teachers and lays them off? Not states, but school districts; of course in Iowa some do want to eventually make that a state function.

He then continued:

Teachers matter. So instead of bashing them, or defending the status quo, let's offer schools a deal. Give them the resources to keep good teachers on the job, and reward the best ones. And in return, grant schools flexibility: to teach with creativity and passion; to stop teaching to the test; and to replace teachers who just aren't helping kids learn. That's a bargain worth making.

So here we see more meddling with education. The “and in return” now we get to No Child Left Behind waivers. I’m not a fan of NCLB, but since Congress didn’t do what Obama wanted; they bypassed them. Since President Obama is willing to do things “with or without this Congress” we shouldn’t be surprised.

Let me say something “radical” here (at least to the establishment and elites) there is no legitimate federal role in education – period. There should be no bargaining with the states. There should be no U.S. Department of Education stamp of approval on certain standards. President Obama, unfortunately was not done, he presumptively spoke on behalf of parents and the states:

We also know that when students don't walk away from their education, more of them walk the stage to get their diploma. When students are not allowed to drop out, they do better. So tonight, I am proposing that every state — every state — requires that all students stay in high school until they graduate or turn 18.

Now how does he propose to do this? Probably he’ll do anytime the Feds want to foist something on the states, but threatening to withhold funds. Michael Farris of the Home School Legal Defense Association said, “There appears to be no limit to the president’s desire for power. Car companies, banks, doctors, and now schools and the family. He’s gone way too far this time.”

Yes he has. HSLDA in a press release today reminded that this again is historically unprecendented:

State-mandated attendance has not been the historical norm. In 1642, the Massachusetts Bay Colony stipulated that parents provide religious instruction for their children. For the next 200 years, most education laws were minimal and focused on family-centered education, giving children the tools to read, write, and do arithmetic, helping them understand what it meant to be virtuous citizens, and allowing them to learn a trade.

This is ultimately up to parents, not the Federal government, to decide. Again, it is unlikely that President Obama would get this through Congress so I’m sure he’d find a way to bypass them and bully the states like he plans to do with colleges and universities if they don’t cap their tuition at the level he’d like to see.

We see clearly Obama’s lust for power in his remarks on education.
