I am a firm believer in the less is more theory, but I probably dont mean it like you think. I believe that the less I HAVE to do the MORE time I have to do all the other stuff I want… I really enjoy gadgets that do things for me. I am waiting in breathless anticipation for the washing machine that will iron my clothes and a self cleaning refrigerator. Yup, my favorite gadgets are those that help me do less, and now that Tobii Technology has teamed up with Lenovo and come up with a laptop that doesnt require you to use a mouse – or a keyboard, well, lets just say the future looks bright.

To use the Lenovo laptop you just need your eyes. The process seems relatively user friendly, you simply sit in front of it and after a thirty second calibration test that consists primarily of following several dots around with your eyes you're done, and the laptop will go through the paces that your peepers suggest, look at an icon,voila! information about that icon. If you are reading, the text scrolls as needed. It's an unencumbered way to interact with your laptop, and one that could be ready for consumer applications in as little as 2 or 3 years.

Tobii’s new method of input and its accompanying software can be used in any number of ways, from taking over cursor control from the mouse, letting you move the cursor with your eyes to tracking gaze points, where gazing at an image for a few seconds brings it to the forefront and in a slideshow format, you can pan through images by looking from right to left. How very Mission Impossible!

While it might be a while before we can actually get our hands on technology like this, it sure sounds like fun, how practical will it be? That remains to be seen… I do see some amazing gaming possibilites and some strong usefullness to differently abled folks who might not otherwise be able to use a keyboard. I dont know why I’m so impressed, I can get my 8 year old to do almost anything just by the way I look at her…

For those of you out there who tend to be a little bit careless with your belongings, no matter how expensive they are, then it would always be better to pick up something which is cheap instead of gunning for an expensive make or model all the time. After all, it is rather difficult to predict just when you are going to be at your butterfingers best – which is why Panasonic figured out the consumer digital camera market has a need for the Panasonic Lumix TS20 rugged digital camera.

This entry-level shooter is not only shockproof and dustproof, it is also waterproof, so that you can continue to shoot photos with this puppy even when it pours outside, or should you want to go snorkelling and take underwater shots, the Lumix TS20 would also deliver results just as well.

The design itself gives the game away, being angled in nature instead of boasting all the curves that you would normally expect from standard consumer electronics devices these days, making it look tough from the get go already. Touted to be waterproof to approximately 16 feet (5 meters), shockproof to approximately 5 feet (1.5 meters), dustproof and freezeproof to temperatures as low as 14 degrees F, you can throw just about anything out of the ordinary at the Lumix TS20, and this 16.1-megapixel shooter will still continue to function without missing a beat.

It boasts of a flat and slim profile that has a 25mm ultra-wide-angle lens and a 4x optical zoom, and even better news is the Lumix TS20′s zoom can extend to 8x equivalent with the Intelligent Zoom function, where everything is made possible courtesy of Panasonic’s Intelligent Resolution technology. Want to shoot in High Definition? No problem, as the Lumix TS20 does just that at 720p in the MP4 format, and 4x optical zoom is also made available to you during video recording.

I would not go out of the way to test the Lumix TS20 to its limits though, but everyday use with some knocks here and there should not be an issue.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 is slimmest digital camera with 20x optical zoom lens

Superlatives are often used to describe a particular product or device in order to have it stand out from the rest of the crowd – and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 is one of them, where the Japanese manufacturer has proudly proclaimed this as “the world’s slimmest digital camera with a 20x optical zoom lens” – measuring a mere 1.1″ thin compared to its rivals in the market. The Lumix ZX20 will tote around a powerful zoom, a 24mm ultra wide-angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens and the ability to shoot full-High Definition (HD), making it a formidable choice if you are in the market and on the lookout for a spanking new digital camera.

The reason it can be this slim is due to the newly-redesigned lens system, where the Lumix ZS20 will carry a new mechanical structure and optical system that is said to further improve image quality as well as getting the help of Nano Surface Coating technology. Manual control options has also been thrown into the mix, letting you adjust shutter speed and aperture, and 3D Photo Mode, meaning the Lumix ZS20 is able to offer a range of special effects which definitely add far more fun to a photography session. You can opt to control the camera with physical buttons or through its 3″ Smart Touch LCD Screen, while charging up the ZS20 is a snap thanks to USB charging or conventional AC adapter charging methods.Expect to pick this puppy up in March for $350 each.

Color Changing Umbrella

If you have stayed in London for some years, you would know that carrying around an umbrella is always a good idea – as well as for those living in tropical countries, as the umbrella not only keeps the glare and heat off from your skin, it also makes sure you remain somewhat dry to a certain extent should the heavens decide to feel extra generous and pour out its abundant “blessings” onto the masses down here. Well, if you are going to tote an umbrella around, you might as well make the most of it with the £19.99 Color Changing Umbrella.

The name of this umbrella gives the game away, where this rather compact device will feature a white raindrop pattern located around the canopy, making it more than enough to be an attraction the moment you lay your eyes on it, and should it come into contact with water, the white drops will suddenly bloom into a full spectrum of colors as though an invisible fairy flitted past and sprinkled some magic dust on it. USB Floppy Disk Drive

The famous 5.25″ floppy – single-sided or double-sided, sir? Imagine swapping such disks when playing games, and installation proved to be a pain when you have seven, nay, eight of these floppies to go through. 3.5″ floppies were far sturdier and less prone to damage, so why not usher in a modern interpretation of a retro device? The £26.99 USB Floppy Disk Drive is as what it says – all you need to do is plug this into any available USB port, and it is capable of transferring all 1.44MB of data on a 3.5″ floppy disk over to your computer. Pretty pointless actually, and in this day and age, probably the only things you can carry around on the floppy would be a couple of sized down images and perhaps a text file or two.

If you are one who basks in nostalgia, and would love to hear the sounds that come from a floppy disk drive of old being read, then this is it. Otherwise, it would still make for a great conversation starter, and there is even the classic LED which lights up when plugged in to indicate power, read and write activity.

Announcing her injury on Twitter the young singer said, “cracked my tail bone doing a front flip… on to the couch. thats like when i tripped over a pillow and broke my arm. #onlyme”

Miley was spotted wearing what appears to be an engagement ring while on her way to have lunch with Liam Hemsworth.

Could Miley Cyrus be headed down the aisle?

Rumors are swirling that the former arm candy of George Clooney, Elisabetta Canalis, is now dating 'Jackass' star and all around crazy person, Steve-O!

The 'couple' was spotted leaving a hair salon together in West Hollywood over the weekend.

So unless Elisabetta is getting styling tips from a guy who shoots fireworks out of his butt, they are probably dating.

The two left the salon in Steve-O's car together so I'm going to say yes, they are official.

It is kind of sad though.

I mean, the poor girl had Clooney and now she has to settle for Steve-O.

Singer Nick Carter of The Backstreet Boys with girlfriend Lauren Kitt, celebrated his birthday at Vanity Nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Nick was celebrating in style! First he and his friends dined at 35 Steaks + Martinis and then hit the club in his very own VIP booth.

Apparently, the liquor was flowing and people were having a good time, Nick even did some gambling (not the best idea while intoxicated, don’t you think).

By the end of the night Nick was working the DJ booth and was tossing glow sticks at his crowd of screaming fans.

No, they just block themselves.

That's right, Brad Pitt recently revealed that both his and Angelina's names have been blocked on all of their children's computers!

“On all the kids’ computers we had our names blocked,” Pitt revealed. “They can’t Google their mom and dad. I don’t want to make myself dependent on what other people think.”

Makes sense I guess.

“We don’t even notice all the noise,” he said referring to news about him and his family on the internet.

Yeah right Brad!

‘The X-Factor’ Winner Melanie Amaro & Elton John Pepsi Commercial – Behind the Scenes (Video)

Melanie Amaro was "crowned" the winner of the first American season of "The X Factor" -.

Now the 19 year-old chanteuse must please "King" Elton John in a humorous new Pepsi commercial which will air during the broadcast of Super Bowl XLVI on February 5, 2012.

“Set in a rock-fantasy version of medieval times, the 60 second commercial features Melanie Amaro performing in front of a “royal court of rock,” including Elton John’s character, the King,” reports Pepsi.

“With epic Pepsi scale and a big dose of humor, the commercial ends with a twist and the tagline, “Where there’s Pepsi, There’s Music”.

Amaro signed to Epic Records, the label announced Tuesday.

Amaro snagged the largest guaranteed prize in television history with a $5-million recording contract to Sony Music through Syco, a joint venture between Sony and show creator Simon Cowell, when she took the crown in December.

The Florida Public School Parent Privacy Invasion Act of 2012

Schools which have had difficulty evaluating and getting rid of poor teacher will be responsible for evaluating parent involvement if a bill before the Florida House and Florida Senate is passed this year.

State Representative Kelli Stargel (R-Lakeland) introduced similar legislation last year which failed. She reintroduced the bill called "Parental Involvement and Accountability in the Public Schools." In the Florida House it's file number is HB 543 and an identical bill has been filed in the Florida Senate – SB 944.

This bill requires public K-5 teachers in the state of Florida to "evaluate the parental involvement as satisfactory, needs improvement or unsatisfactory on each of the following criteria as defined in district school board policy."

The frequency of the student’s unexcused absence and unexcused tardiness.
Parental response to requests for conferences or communication.
Parental submission of complete and correct information, including, but not limited to, emergency-contact information; student-immunization records; and pertinent parental-contact information, which shall be on file and updated if changes occur during the school year.

A parental-involvement evaluation would then be sent along with the student assessment to the home which would indicate that the parent "needs improvement" when two or more of the following occur in a quarter:

The student has five or more unexcused absences.
The student has 10 or more instances of unexcused tardiness.
Five or more requests for communication between the teacher and the parent are made with no communication occurring.
The emergency-contact information provided by the parent is determined to be incomplete or incorrect.

Every school year data from these evaluations would be collected and then sent to the Florida Department of Education who then completes a report to be given to the Governor, the President of the Florida Senate, and the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives.

This bill is a flagrant intrusion into parental privacy. While yes I understand some parents do a poor job of being involved in their child's education this is the wrong solution. A big brother response to the problem of little parent involvement is not one that can be best addressed by government. An elementary school teacher (and I have visions of some 22-23-year old recent college grad doing this) is certainly not the person to make these assessments. Also Representative Stargel seems to believe that teachers don't already have enough to do and she wants to add to their plate.

Then again as a champion of local control, this looks like another example of a state foisting an unfunded mandate onto the local school districts. The content of the bill makes it even worse.

This is a bill that needs to die an early death.

Update: I had an email from Sandra Brevard, an education activist I know, forwarded to me. She wrote:

The legislative analysis indicates that the cost impact on schools is “indeterminate.” It states there will be costs to publish the handbook, grade, and collect/report data.

The legislative analysis says the “evaluation data” will become a part of the student’s permanent record and be confidential following FERPA guidelines.

Starbucks Boycott? Controversies over Guns and Gays

Thursday, CNS News reported on a boycott against Starbucks by an anti-gun group. Friday, they reported that Starbucks has endorsed a gay marriage bill in Washington State. In two days, CNS News has divided the American people into four incompatible groups.

Which group are you in? And which coffee will you buy or not buy?

The National Gun Victim's Action Council (NGAC) will lead a national boycott of Starbucks" Feb 14^th. Starbucks currently permits openly carried firearms in the 43 states that permit open carry. The NGAC wants to coerce Starbucks into banning guns in its stores because every coffee shoppe should advocate for "gun safety". Well, that idea made me want to brew a big pot of Café Verona, right now, using the full 2 tablespoons for every 4 ounces of water, so I can fully support this bastion of American rights; but I had better wait until February 14^th to make my politically motivated purchases of Starbucks java. On that magic day every vote for Starbucks is a vote for the 2^nd Amendment.

In 2010, a similar boycott by Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence in 2010 failed. Why, you ask? Well, because Starbucks was too busy formulating a different "socially responsible" position to have time to calculate the most correct political position on handguns.

This week, they unveiled that position: Starbucks is pro-homosexual marriage. Last week they added their "name to the list of major corporations that have endorsed a gay marriage bill in Washington State, saying the legislation shares the company's values at its core." Conservatives and pro-family organizations are not pleased—nor am I!

Now America is divided into four groups.

1. Anti-marriage and pro-gun.

If you are in favor of gay marriage—and refuse to correct your thinking in the next two weeks—and you like the 2^nd Amendment, on February 14^th, you get to make a statement by drinking Maxwell House. I think your statement might sound like this: "Yelch!"

2. Pro-marriage and anti-gun.

If you defend marriage between a man and a woman and you think taking guns away from law-abiding citizens will protect you from criminals that don't get permits and don't "open carry", then February 14 is your day to buy coffee from Starbucks! Don't like coffee or don't like the flavor of Starbucks? Buy a gift certificate for someone else. Either way, spend your money with the Big Barista from the Great Northwest and make a statement. Spend a lot and get an exclamation point!

3. Anti-marriage and anti-gun.

If you hate both traditional marriage and guns, what are you doing at Caffeinated Thoughts?

4. Pro-marriage and pro-gun. If you understand that marriage between a man and a woman was instituted by our Creator for His glory and our good; if you understand that when guns are outlawed, criminals and tyrants have more freedom to take away our freedom; if you cling to your Bibles and your guns; if you're like me on both these questions, what do you do?

Here's a thought. Spend your day doing what you would normally do. Drink what you would normally drink, pray, read your Bible, work hard, spend time with your spouse, kids, grandkids, eat chocolates.

Oh, yeah, February 14 is Valentine's Day. You'd better eat chocolates.

Katy Perry made her first big public appearance in the U.S. since her split with Russell Brand last night.

Katy was spotted on the red carpet with her BFF, jewelry designer Markus Molinari, at the Grand Opening weekend of 1 OAK Las Vegas at The Mirage, Sin City's newest hot spot.

Katy was there to co-host the GiveLove charity event with J. Molinari Jewelry designers Markus Molinari and Jason Arasheben.

The “Waking Up In Vegas” singer presented a check to the charity’s co-founders, Patricia Arquette and Rosetta Getty, as well as board-member David Arquette before heading inside the party to join the 1 OAK owners, Richie Akiva and Scott Sartiano as well as 1 OAK Las Vegas managing partner Eli Pacino.

Soap Opera Star Nick Santino Commits Suicide After Euthanizing His Dog (Photo)

Soap Opera star Nick Santino took his own life this week, after he was forced to put his beloved dog to sleep under pressure from his Upper West Side condo.

"Today I betrayed my best friend and put down my best friend. Rocco trusted me and I failed him. He didn't deserve this.”

The Brooklyn-born Santino — a struggling actor whose TV credits include "All My Children" and "Guiding Light" — adopted Rocco from a shelter several years ago.

Santino euthanized his dog, Rocco, Tuesday — on Santino's 47th birthday.

The gut-wrenching decision became too much to bear.

Neighbors said a tearful Santino brought dog treats to the building's doorman and said: "Give these to the other dogs. Rocco is no more."

The last phone call he made was to a former girlfriend at 2 a.m. Wednesday. Later that day, police found his body in his bedroom. He had overdosed on pills.

It appears, Rocco was Nick’s only family.

This is the saddest story I have ever read.

Etta James was memorialized by a moving performance of “At Last” by Christina Aguilera.

The funeral took place on Saturday, January 28th, at Greater Bethany Community Church City of Refuge in Gardena, California.

At the funeral, Christina told attendees she includes “At Last” in every concert as a tribute to her musical inspiration.

President Barack Obama and the first lady shared their first inaugural ball dance to a version of the song sung by Beyonce. Sharpton on Saturday opened his remarks by reading a statement from the president.

“Etta will be remembered for her legendary voice and her contributions to our nation’s musical heritage,” Obama’s statement read.

The Grammy-winning singer died January 20th after battling leukemia and other ailments, including dementia.

The Hollywood actor read out the lyrics to the track during an appearance on a Capital FM morning show, Capital Breakfast this week.

Nicolas, who was responding to a request from a listener to perform the song, read out the track’s chorus, including the famous “wiggle, wiggle”.

Romney turned out to be a great coiner of new words and phrases. Usually the domain of linguists, the former Governor of Massachusetts created a new phrase to go along with his highly deceptive term, "effectively pro-choice" on abortion (which really means, really pro-choice… really, I'm just sayin').

In 2007, when asked by Tim Russert about whether he would support further infringements upon the second amendment right-to-bear-arms, he said that he would only support the banning of "weapons of unusual lethality" (WUL).

Anybody familiar with Princess Bride knows that our hero Wesley had to fight "Rodents of Unusual Size" (ROUS). Since most people think weapons were supposed to be lethal, unusual lethality must mean making people more than mostly dead, perhaps Governor Romney will be the next public official to call for safer bullets.

Mitt Romney, Bain Capital, the Damon Corporation and Medicare Fraud

Mitt's Blood Money is a new mini-documentary released by Winning Our Future, a Newt Gingrich-friendly Super PAC, that questions Romney's involvement with the Damon Corporation that was investigated for Medicare fraud. They introduce the film:

Debating in Tampa, Florida in late-January, while falsely characterizing Newt Gingrich's income from his government consulting work, Mitt Romney denied that Bain did "any work with the government like Medicaid and Medicare". Now we learn that Bain, under Romney's "supervision", purchased and ran the Damon Corporation, who pled guilty to Federal conspiracy charges as a result of tens of millions of dollars in systemic Medicare fraud committed under Romney's and Bain's control. Damon was fined over $119-million which was, at the time, the largest criminal healthcare fine in Massachusetts history and Mr. Romney's participation was characterized in 1996 by Corporate Crime Reporter thusly: "As manager and board member of Damon Corp, Mitt Romney sits at the center of one of the top 15 corporate crimes of the 1990's."

I’ll be interested to see how Romney spins responds to this. Unlike the previous criticism of Romney’s involvement with Bain Capital this can’t really be seen as an attack on capitalism. Folks, Romney’s business record is very relevant to the vetting process. If the facts are wrong then Romney should come out and say so. But they really don’t.

The Romney campaign denounced the super PAC ad, saying it “would make Michael Moore proud and (has) already struck a chord with President Obama‘s liberal allies.”

“They have been thoroughly discredited by independent fact checkers and by respected Republicans like Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio,” Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said. “Once again, Speaker Gingrich is reaching into President Obama’s playbook and trying to re-litigate old Democrat attacks. Speaker Gingrich and his political cronies are desperate to distract from his record of failed and unreliable leadership, and voters won’t be fooled.”

First off, Speaker Gingrich, as Romney pointed out before in defending himself in light of his own SuperPAC ads, can’t legally be in communication with Winning Our Future. Secondly… What is inaccurate? What isn’t truthful? Comparing Gingrich to President Obama instead of addressing the ad says nothing to Florida’s voters other than they’re deflecting the questions the mini-documentary raises. Third, no SuperPAC ad should ever be taken at complete face value so I doubt that everything in the documentary is 100% accurate and it includes it’s own spin (that includes the ads that Romney’s SuperPAC runs).

Sixth Circuit Court Rules Counseling Student Cannot Be Expelled for Religious Views

I posted a year-and-a-half ago on two cases where Christian counseling students were expelled from their graduate counseling programs because they believed homosexuality was wrong. At the time one of these cases, Eastern Michigan University's decision to expel Julea Ward had been affirmed in Federal district court.

Yesterday the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the lower court's decision. This is a huge victory for protecting the religious liberty of students. As the court held that Eastern Michigan University may have violated the Constitution by expelling Ward based on her religious beliefs about homosexual conduct.

A recap of what happened leading up to her expulsion. Ward was a graduate student in Eastern Michigan University's counseling program. She had four classes left to take before graduation. She maintained a 3.91 GPA in her program. She was required to complete a counseling practicum, in which she would counsel clients under the supervision of a faculty member. She made it clear that she was willing to counsel homosexual clients on a variety of matters, but that her religious beliefs would forbid her from affirming their same-sex relationships.

In one instance she asked her faculty supervisor permission to refer her client to another counselor. Permission was granted for her to do this. Soon after she was expelled from the University on the ground that the referral violated the university's code of ethics. She then filed a lawsuit, alleging that the expulsion violated her rights of free speech and free exercise of religion.

The court in writing its opinion wrote:

Ward was willing to work with all clients and to respect the school's affirmation directives in doing so. That is why she asked to refer gay and lesbian clients (and some heterosexual clients) if the conversation required her to affirm their sexual practices. What more could the rule require? Surely, for example, the ban on discrimination against clients based on their religion (1) does not require a Muslim counselor to tell a Jewish client that his religious beliefs are correct if the conversation takes a turn in that direction and (2) does not require an atheist counselor to tell a person of faith that there is a God if the client is wrestling with faith-based issues. Tolerance is a two-way street. Otherwise, the rule mandates orthodoxy, not anti-discrimination. (Emphasis is mine)

Exactly, as I said in my original post:

Not only have these schools prohibited the free exercise of religion, but by telling these students they can stay if they believe differently is establishing a religious doctrine. I'm sure they don't see it that way, but we all have religious beliefs. Nobody lives in a moral and religious vacuum.

The court pointed out evidence of religious speech discrimination during the University's disciplinary inquiry:

Many of the participants' comments and questions focused on Ward's beliefs and her religious objection to affirming same-sex relationships. Professor Dugger said that Ward "communicated an attempt to maintain [her] belief system and [her] behaviors," id. at 8, and dismissed the religious basis of Ward's objections: She offered her "professional opinion" that Ward was "selectively using her religious beliefs in order to rationalize her discrimination against one group of people" because Ward said that she could "set aside her religious values" and counsel clients about things such as "abortion, child abuse, and murder" but "could not set aside her religious values in order to effectively counsel nonheterosexual clients." Id. at 5–6. This line of inquiry suggests a distinction between secular values and spiritual ones, with a preference for the former over the latter. Besides, the reason why Ward (in Professor Dugger's words) could "set aside her religious values" in counseling clients about "abortion, child abuse, and murder" is because the university likely would not insist that she affirm the values underlying this conduct.

Pressing these points, Dugger asked Ward whether she would "see [her] brand of Christianity as superior to" that of a Christian client who viewed her faith differently. Id. at 28. In the same vein, Professor Marx queried "how someone with such strong religious beliefs [as Ward's] would enter a profession that would cause [her] to go against those beliefs . . . by its stated code of ethics." Id. at 31. And Professor Francis took Ward "on a little bit of a theological bout," id. at 28, asking whether she believed that "anyone [is] more righteous than another before God?" and whether, if Ward's stated beliefs were true, "doesn't that mean that you're all on the same boat and shouldn't [gays and lesbians] be accorded the same respect and honor that God would give them?"

Evidence of the faculty's hostility to Christianity in this instance is made plain, and the court in their ruling said:

Many of the faculty members' statements to Ward raise a similar concern about religious discrimination. A reasonable jury could find that the university dismissed Ward from its counseling program because of her faith-based speech, not because of any legitimate pedagogical objective. A university cannot compel a student to alter or violate her belief systems based on a phantom policy as the price for obtaining a degree.

On its face, the ACA code of ethics sets forth neutral and generally applicable policies, and the university has ample authority to adopt these policies, including the anti-discrimination provisions, for the school's graduate counseling program. What poses a problem is not the adoption of an anti-discrimination policy; it is the implementation of the policy, permitting secular exemptions but not religious ones and failing to apply the policy in an even-handed, much less a faith-neutral, manner to Ward.

This case has now been remanded to district court for further proceedings to go before a jury instead of the decision being made by an individual judge.

Rick Santorum Wins CNN Florida Republican Debate

Life and work has kept me from watching the 20th Republican debate held in Jacksonville, FL on Thursday until today (contrary to what some may believe I don't blog full-time). You may have missed me since I haven't written anything since Wednesday. Just how busy have I been? Both my oldest daughter and son watched this debate before I did. (My daughter watched it for her U.S. Presidential Elections class, and my son watched for his traditional logic class – got to love homeschooling!)

Three quick takeaways from watching this debate:

Gingrich has just been flat in the recent Florida debates and this particular debate may seal a Florida Primary loss as recent polls seem to indicate. Romney was able to turn the tables on Gingrich with his Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae criticism. His criticism of Wolf Blitzer fell flat. He needs to change up his debate strategy; attacking the moderators has become predictable.
Romney while he certainly performed better than he did in South Carolina; Santorum got the better of him in several exchanges in particular with health care (see the video below).
While Gingrich and Romney have been sniping at one another over trivial matters. Santorum scored when he said, "You guys should leave that alone and talk about the issues." Santorum looked the most Presidential.

The clear winner of this is Rick Santorum. The clear loser was Newt Gingrich. Mitt Romney and Ron Paul both had a good debate (Paul better than Romney), but Santorum had the best moments and took the opportunity to demonstrate he is the full spectrum conservative running.

Here was one of the better moments of the debate where Santorum clearly got the better on Romney on the subject of health care.

During Snoop Dogg‘s web show, he gave a bit of much needed advice for Kim Kardashian.

Snoop ripped into Kim during an expletive-filled new video, telling Nets star Kris Humphries, “You shouldn’t have tried to wife the [bleep].”

With 40 ounce bottles of Colt 45 sitting on his newsdesk and a faux skyline behind him — no mercy was shown.

“My first piece of advice is you dumb assed [bleep], you shouldn’t have tried to wife the [bleep]. She’s not that kind of [bleep]. She get’s around,” he says.

“She's cold-blooded, I'm pretty sure she'll have a book in a month talking about all the [bleeps] that she got and how she played them.”

Dogg references Kardashian exes Reggie Bush and Ray J, with whom she made the sex tape that launched her to fame.

How much do you love him now? Yeah, I love him a lot too.

Brandi Glanville may have fond memories of her "week of fun" with Gerard Butler, but the actor has no clue who she is.

Oh girlfriend, never lie about sleeping with celebrities — you get caught.

The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star told Andy Cohen that she hooked up with Butler.

According to Glanville, she bumped uglies with Gerard for an entire week and it was so good, she rated him an 11 out of 10.

But when TMZ asked the actor how he rated Glanville in the lovemaking department, Gerard seemed really confused.

Mary Louise Parker Replaces Demi Moore as Gloria Steinem in Lovelace

Demi Moore has been replaced by Mary Louise Parker as Gloria Steinem in the movie biopic, Lovelace.

Sources confirm to Us Magazine that the TV star will fill in for Moore, who had to drop out of the film earlier this week after she was hospitalized for “exhaustion.”

On Thursday, there was speculation that Chloë Sevigny would play the feminist icon when she was cast as a feminist journalist, but now it seems that those are two different roles.

“Lovelace” is currently shooting in Los Angeles with Amanda Seyfried playing the film’s central character, ’70s porn actress Linda Lovelace.

The Nabi – Not your Daddy’s Tablet

I guess everybody expects that I’m a gadget geek. It would come as no surprise that I have a multitude of electronic devices in every corner of my home. I have smart-phones and laptops, desktops, movie players, movie streamers, recorders, set top boxes, iPods, iPads, Android stuff galore… and an 8 year old child that we affectionately call “the crusher”

So it is certainly my pleasure to introduce you to “the Nabi” . Finally, a 200 dollar kid-friendly android tablet that has a responsive touchscreen, large size app buttons, access to a huge variety of kid appropriate content like music, books, games and movies. The Nabi also has some pretty nifty parental controls built right in. The Octopus Chair

“Release the Kraken!” Now that is definitely coming out from my mouth, should my bank balance and accountant agree to be enlightened by as much as £35,000 for The Octopus Chair. Yes sir, you read that right – this uniquely shaped piece of home furniture is perfect to set the proper tone at your next dinner party, as you hold a Pirates of the Caribbean theme, while you comfortably park your rear end on this giant octopus. Exquisitely detailed to the extent that you might even think it moved a wee bit (this tends to happen when you get a little tipsy from all the merry making that is going on), this opulent dining chair is ideal to project your already eccentric personality upon the rest of the party goers.

Spanish artist Maximo Riera is the brains (and hands) behind The Octopus Chair, and I do admit, it is definitely going to be extremely challenging to blend in this chair with the rest of the furniture that you have at home. Then again, if you can afford something this expensive, surely you are able to go ahead with an interior makeover to obtain an underwater look and feel. More than 30 professionals, overseen by Riera himself, were employed to make this chair that boasts of rich leather upholstery.

Mobileye driver safety solution

The recently concluded CES saw thousands of gadgets, gizmos and even services offered to the masses, and it is virtually impossible to cover all grounds, even if you have a staff count like Engadget. The Mobileye driver safety solution is one nifty gadget that was paraded on the CES showfloor, where this unique solution intends to help drivers avoid and mitigate collisions, while enhancing the overall driver experience.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) claims that majority of accidents occur because of driver inattention in a matter of three seconds right before a collision. While the airbag (which was invented nearly 45 years ago) offers protection for the driver from collisions, the new Mobileye 5-Series intends to take a more active approach with the mantra that “prevention is better than cure”, and in mitigating collisions, our highways should be safer for everyone.

The cutting-edge Mobileye systems comprise a smart camera and proprietary algorithms and microprocessor that will function in unison, detecting and alerting drivers to unintended lane departures, imminent collisions, pedestrians, bicyclists and motorcyclists on the road. Heck, it is also smart enough to “read” speed limit signs, control your hi beams intelligently while alerting you of the most common forms of accidents – rear-end collisions. The third eye of technology, so to speak, and thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, the Mobileye 5-Series will also be able to work in tandem with your smartphone to deliver visual alerts for critical conditions on the roads.

Other safety functions include Mobileye Lane Departure Warning that alerts you whenever you unintentionally veering into another lane, Mobileye Forward Collision Warning (FCW) that alerts you 2.7 seconds before a collision so that you can react accordingly, Mobileye Headway Monitoring and Warning (HMW) that delivers programmable visual and audio alerts before collisions, and Mobileye Pedestrian Collision Warning (PCW) that prevents or mitigates accidents during the daytime thanks to visual and audio warnings that kick in up to 2 seconds before an imminent collision with a pedestrian or bicyclist.

The Mobileye 5-Series is able to fit most types of new and existing passenger cars, trucks, buses, RVs, and will work regardless of whether the sun or moon is up.
