Cair is Shocked! Shocked! FBI Visits Some Muslims Who Travel to Somalia

Posted: 23 Feb 2011 04:18 AM PST

The same week Somali Pirates killed Christian’s bearing Bibles, The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has teamed up with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and is suing the FBI for surveillance of the Muslim community, particularly those who have traveled to Somalia, Pakistan, and Yemen.  Last fall, CAIR sued the state of Oklahoma for passing an anti-Sharia Law statute.

CAIR has ties to both the Muslim Brotherhood (which was responsible for the assassination of Anwar Sadat of Egypt) and Hamas.

If the story is correct this was not secret surveillance, but rather the asking of questions.

In other breaking news, drug dealers are suing the DEA for targeting crack houses, and vice squads all over the country have been sued by prostitution rings for targeting – Shocking as it may sound! – brothels.

What’s next, will they check out casinos for gambling?

John Thune Says No to a 2012 Presidential Run

Posted: 22 Feb 2011 01:45 PM PST

imageIn a statement released today, Senator John Thune (R-SD) ended speculation about a potential 2012 run.  He said that he felt he was best positioned to "fight for America's future right here in trenches of the United States Senate."  He said that decision was made after a lot of prayer and from feedback and encouragement from friends, family and supporters.

So add Thune's name along with Pence to the list of those not running, and we are starting to get a clearer picture of what the 2012 Iowa Caucus field won't look like.  Still plenty of time for people to put their hat in the ring or decide not to.  I believe that Thune not getting into the thick of this race will help former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty out the most, possibly former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) as well.

Iowa GOP Chairman Matt Strawn Comments on Public Demonstrations

Posted: 22 Feb 2011 01:15 PM PST

DES MOINES – Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Matt Strawn issued the following statement on today's demonstrations outside the state Capitol:

"I stand with those Iowans at the Capitol today who are shining a bright light on the need to reform Iowa’s public employee labor laws.

"This debate is not about the value of public employees, but rather giving the taxpayers a seat at the table in public union negotiations. For too long, the taxpayers have been absent in one-sided bargaining that has inflated the state’s budget and created a public class whose wages and benefits outpace those competing in the private sector.

"I look forward to the continued leadership from Iowa Republicans at the statehouse to bring these long overdue reforms to law."
