Broadway debut for Daniel Radcliffe

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 04:12 AM PDT

Things seem to be going well for our favorite Harry Potter star, as you can see from the Broadway debut for Daniel Radcliffe. We have already seen the young star tread the boards before, but this is the first time that he had to sing. In case you were wondering – yes he kept his clothes on this time.

Radcliffe is now starring in the musical "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying", in which he plays J Pierrepont Finch. This far-fetched musical sees Finch play a chairman of the board, but this did take a lot of work and determination, as he started off as a window cleaner.

According to the Associated Press John Larroquette, Christopher J Hanke, also joins Radcliffe on stage and Rose Hemingway, which is a bit of an unknown. Reviews have been mixed, with some saying that although Radcliffe's voice was nice, it seemed to lack in certain areas.

For those of you who would like to see an example of his performance, then head over to BBC News for a short video. What did you think?

Adele tightens grip for top of the charts

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 03:50 AM PDT

Adele tightens grip at top of the charts for yet another week, and has matched the record by another album for nine weeks in a row in the 21st century. Adele's current album has now joined The Beatles album that held the top spot for the same amount of time in 2001.

The album, called "21" seems to have been helped by her performance on Comic Relief just over one week ago, the song performed on the night was "Someone Like You" and got a great response by the audience. The single was number one before, but has returned to the top spot again, making it the eight single to do so in the 21st century.

According to Music Week, Adele's first album "19" is also back in the charts and takes up the number two spot – we can certainly see that Adele has that grip on the charts like we mentioned above. Adele also has another single in the top 40 UK singles charts; the song is "Rolling In Deep" and is at number 9.

Why do you think that Adele has been climbing back up the charts?

Celebrities With Hair Transplants: Best And Worst

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 01:26 AM PDT

While there are male celebrities out there that don't worry too much about the thought of going bald, a lot do what they can to cover it up. Hair transplants appear to be a common thing among male celebrities these days, and previous reports have suggested that even Tom Hanks and Tom Cruise have had them.

As Pim over at famewatcher.com previously noted, Tom Hanks' receding hairline doesn't appear to have moved an inch since back in the 1980s, which of course suggests that he could well have had a hair transplant. One male celebrity who has owned up to having it done however is Dr Christian Jessen.

Dr Christian, who can be seen in Channel 4's 'Embarrassing Bodies' program, admitted that he's always hated his hairline and that's why he had it done. Another male celebrity on the list is 'The Bodyguard' star Kevin Costner, who unfortunately hit the tabloid headlines for what they described as his unnatural look.

What do you think about male celebrities getting hair transplants?

South Park Creators Broadway Reviews: The Book of Mormon

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 12:41 AM PDT

A few days ago we provided our readers with a list of Broadway musicals and musical comedies for 2011. If you read the article you will know that the list includes a satirical show called The Book of Mormon, which comes from the creators of the popular animated sitcom South Park.

As Christine Kearney over at reuters.com recently noted, the Broadway show – which tells the tale of Mormons who travel all the way from Utah to Uganda – appears to have been receiving some rave reviews from the critics, with some even describing it as the best musical comedy show since 'The Producers.'

The New York Times described The Book of Mormon as a newborn, old-fashioned, pleasure-giving musical comedy, while Variety claimed that the show surpassed musical comedy Tony winners 'Avenue Q' and 'Spamalot.' The showbiz publication also applauded the show's stars, Andrew Rannells and Josh Gad.

Will you be going to see The Book of Mormon Broadway show this year?

Serena Williams Ad For Top Spin 4: Controversial Video

Posted: 27 Mar 2011 11:51 AM PDT

2K Sports may not have authorized the distribution of a sexy advertisement – which the company then decided to ditch – for the recently released Top Spin 4 game, but it didn't appear to stop the controversial video from making its way onto the Internet for millions to see.

The publisher originally shot the video, which features Serena Williams and actress/gamer Rileah Vanderbilt, as an attempt to promote the Top Spin 4 game. However, according to Jane McEntegart over at tomsguide.com, the studio then decided they would not use it in their marketing campaign.

Rileah on the other hand decided to post a link to the sexy ad on her Twitter page and before long, the video had spread across the entire Internet. Although 2K Sports was originally quiet on the matter, they have now released a statement saying that the distribution of the video was unauthorized.

We've embedded the video below, so you can see it for yourself. Do you think the commercial is too sexy for TV?

Star Trek 2 Storyline Expectations

Posted: 27 Mar 2011 10:53 AM PDT

Up until recently, fans of the 2009 Star Trek movie were having doubts as to whether the much-anticipated sequel would actually make its expected release date of 2012. After all, it was only about a month ago that JJ Abrams claimed that there was no firm script for the Star Trek 2 movie yet.

However, that doesn't appear to be the case at all, as two of the original film's stars have both revealed that there is a script. In fact, according to a recent report at Press Association, Chris Pine – the actor who played James T. Kirk in the 2009 movie – even revealed that he will have a love interest in the next movie.

Chris posted a message on his Facebook page, claiming that fans are going to love the follow-up film. Simon Pegg, who will be reprising his role as the USS Enterprise's chief engineer Scotty, also confirmed that there is a script for the upcoming movie and said that he cannot wait to start filming.

As noted over at johnjohnsaidit.com, the Star Trek 2 movie is currently scheduled to open on June 29th, 2012. What are your expectations for the Star Trek 2 storyline?

Modern Warfare 3: NGP and PS3 Cross Compatibility

Posted: 27 Mar 2011 08:54 AM PDT

Sony is working at their best for their upcoming handheld console called the NGP (Next Generation Portable). This device is due for release on the 11th November 2011, with the next Call of Duty title releasing on the same date, enabling cross compatibility with the PS3.

PS3center's article states that the approaching NGP will be fully cross compatible with Sony's PS3; as mentioned in the first paragraph, basically meaning players that are playing Call of Duty online on the PS3 for example, have the ability to join and play matches with players on the NGP.

It was also said that if Activision can successfully pull this one off, then the Next Generation Portable will possess the best app as from the first day, which means that all future Call of Duty titles will shoot through the roof on sales.

What else would you like to see from the Sony NGP, and do you like the idea of cross compatibility between these two consoles?

Review of Mario Sports Mix: The Bottom Line

Posted: 27 Mar 2011 08:17 AM PDT

In the past Square Enix had made a fair few mistakes, which they took into account and try redeeming themselves in the course of the establishment of Mario Sports Mix. This game does deliver fast tutorials, which are simple enough for young kids to comprehend.

The reporter on GamerBolt basically wondered if this game was called a mixed bag of Mario Sports, or if it was actually Mario Sports Mix, in other words he/she wanted to know if this game was for real or not. The article then went on to say that it is like a 'hodgepodge' of dull entertainment, overstaying its one hour welcome. Well personally I think GamerBolt is not at all impressed with this game.

Apparently Mario Sports Mix includes volleyball, basketball, hockey and dodgeball, which has a total of three tournaments for each sport. The downside of this game is that the single player can get very lacklustre, and opposition in sports apart from volleyball can be a total time-drag.

Have you had a chance to play this game? If so then let us know your opinion.
